The PORTA WINDER was designed for use with 1" and 1-1/2" wildland firehose. It mounts on the engine using the common "FORESTER" donut roller post. If one is not available, we make posts in both receiver or weld on configurations. Setup takes less than a minute, and requires no tools. This is possible by means of the permanently attached fasteners, and hose cam actuated arm adjusters. The PORTA WINDER'S adjustability This is particularly useful as most engine's hose compartments differ.

The ROLLER/GUIDE attaches to the winder’s extension arm to efficiently evacuate air and water, while guiding the hose. It can be used with either the PORTA WINDER or DONUT ROLLER. This attachment makes the winding operation manageable by a single person, and doesn’t require any real organizing of the hose section prior to winding.

The DONUT ROLLER was designed to be lightweight and simple. Like the PORTA WINDER it attaches to the extension arm spindle, on either side, allowing the winder to be used in various directions on the engine.

Each of the winder’s components have their own pocket within the storage roll-up, including the DONUT ROLLER. This roll-up pouch is fastened with compression straps for secure storage during transport The ROLLER/GUIDE comes with its own storage pouch.
